- Pordata: uma base de dados de acesso público da Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos, que disponibiliza milhares de indicadores e estatísticas de Portugal Contemporâneo. Uma verdadeira alternativa (para melhor) à informação oferecida por outras fontes primárias (como o INE – Portugal) a que esta base de dados inevitavelmente recorre;
- StatCounter: Global and local statistics on Browsers and OS (including mobile and distinct versions of the same product);
- Tiobe index: is an ordered list of programming languages, sorted by the frequency of web search using the name of this language as keyword. The index covers searches in Google, Google Blogs, MSN, Yahoo!, Wikipedia and Youtube. The index is updated once a month. According to the site, Tiobe index is not about the best programming language or the language in which most lines of code have been written. However the site does claim that the frequency of searches may reflect the number of skilled engineers, courses and jobs worldwide. These claims are sometimes criticized in opposing publications. Another source for this type of info is RedMonk Programming Language Rankings;
- Google Trends: how often a particular search-term is entered (on google) relative to the total search-volume across various regions of the world, and in various languages (ex. "java", "ruby on rails"). it also allows the user to compare the volume of searches between two or more terms. On August 5, 2008, Google launched Google Insights for Search, a more sophisticated and advanced service displaying search trends data;
- Alexa.com: a subsidiary of Amazon.com, provides information on the web traffic to other websites (other alternatives can be: Compete.com and Quantcast); among other it includes: Listings of the top sites in each category; Hot Products; Top Sites; Hot Topics; etc.;
- Indeed.com: (section trends) is a metasearch engine for job listings, launched in November 2004. The site aggregates job listings from thousands of websites including job boards, newspapers, associations, and company career pages. Job seekers do not apply for jobs through Indeed, just receive the listing as to where the job is posted. Applicants can then decide which jobs are of interest and then go to the corresponding sites to apply. Indeed is currently available in 54 countries including Portugal (indeed.pt). The main version (.com), in addition to searching job postings, also allows the occurrence of job terms/words (ex. "java", ".net", "javascript", etc,) to be shown on a graph: an indicator of trends in the job market;
- Payscale.com: research and compare average salaries, based on your job title, location, education, skills and experience;
